Day 49: Cairns

It may not look like it... but we are ready to go now.

We have spent alont of time dodging rain trying to fix things and of course, once we took everything out it didn't seem to fix back in again. The Law of Sod's.

Henry is cleaned and packed, anything that hasn't found a home yet has been dumped in the back and we can sort that out later.

Tomorrow we are off to sample the pleasures of Port Douglas. It should only take around an hour, though in Henry time it may take a little longer.

We are thinking of you both and hope the great deluge is not preventing you from doing all things nice, exciting and adventurous! Pt Douglas is such a lovely place and is a good base for you to get around about to all the good spots close by.

It was so good to get a SMS from you today. We have been keeping an ear out, half expecting you to turn up in the middle of the night saying strange things sounding like maybe speaking in tongues or something! Far North Queensland has certainly turned into a 'water feature' for you. Even we have been saying some interesting words, of the four letter kind, about the rain over the past few days. Just about everything is starting to grow little furry whiskers.

The weather news tonight suggests we are in for a few days of only a little bit of rain. The month is almost spent now so we can safely say, it usually gets better from this time on.

Take care, have fun and don't forget your flippers and snorkels. They will probably be of more use than umbrellas!

Sue and Darren.
