Day 40: Cairns
We are really suffering with fluid retention since the flight. I find it painful even to bend my legs and my head still feels like it is being squeezed. As for Oly... he is retaining fluid mainly in his face which makes getting used to him shaving off his beard even more difficult.
I don't think we will be in any close up photos in the near future...
I went to bed at 3PM yesterday and woke up at 3:30AM feeling even worse than before.
We had a brief visit to the Pier today and had lunch outside overlooking the marina. On the way we saw lots of kombis and made a special effort to take pictures of them...
It is funny, when you become a "parent" to a kombi you cannot help but view other kombis in an affectionate way. But in the same way as being a parent, you know your kombi is by far the best; most attractive (despite the scratches), has the least amount of rust, best runner (well we can think white lies), by far the most intelligent (they have a personality and feelings you know), and tailing on from that... god forbid if anyone were ever to say a bad thing about your kombi or hurt it in anyway...
