Day 45: Cooktown - Cairns

We left Cooktown early and stopped in to see Joseph McIvor who is an artist friend of Sue and Darrens. He has a gallery/studio in the town where you can watch him work. When we arrived he was testing a didgeridoo he was making. Joe invited Oly to have a go, which he did. Poor Ol couldn't even get a squeak out of it...

Our next stop was Black Mountain. Lots of spooky stories to be told there.

People go up the mountain and never come back, some say there are gigantic pythons that lurk between the granite rocks and boulders and there are bottomless pits that some poor unfortunates have plummeted to their death. I suspect they are presumed dead as they have never been found!!!

When we got back to Cairns Oly and I went to pick up the new and improved Henry. Wow he runs like a dream thanks to Toby at Werners VW.

Nice way to end the day!
