Day 43: Cairns - Cooktown
After dropping Henry off for his service and tune up we went up to Cooktown with Sue and Darren.
Cooktown is the site of the first white settlement in Australia after Captain James Cook, in June 1770, landed and repaired his damaged ship, The Endeavour.

The drive was smooth and event free. We stopped twice for a coffee and taking advantage of the break I tried my luck with the toilets. Ugh! I had forgotten how bad (and scary) outside toilets in Australia can be. I resisted the urge to run squealing from the first one, legs a leaping like a dancing medieval jester .
For the rest of the trip I stopped drinking water.
