Day 143: Darwin - Sydney

We caught the 1:30AM Qantas red eye to Sydney and arrived really refreshed with our red eyes hanging out of our head around 6AM. We were not sure if we would make it as Sydney had "cyclonic" weather and it was touch and go that the flight may be cancelled.

Upon arrival we hoped into a cab which buzzed us across the city in the wind and rain to Darling Point which would be our home for the next 5 days. We hadn't seen this much traffic since leaving London.

We're staying with friends of Oly's family (he knows more people in Australia than I do!) and lucky for us they have a spare apartment we can use while we are here. We are in heaven.

Resisting sleep we set off into the morning like true tourists... I just know this is going to be fab!

Now we really do envy you, we loved Sydney, and next time I really will take a Harley over the Bridge! When we were there the christmas lights were switched on in Martin Place with the cathedral choir singing carols. We drank in the Fortunes of War, and ate dinner on the Rocks at Doyles overlooking the Opera House....bliss,
Love Sue & Mal x.

We think we will go back for a week before we fly on the 17th Dec to England for Christmas.

Then we will get the Christmas lights too!

Sydney is amazing, we would love to live there.

Nice to see you were still slumming it on your journey! You'll be spoilt and want a balcony built from your rooftop tent on the Prada. Enjoy!

No finger contact yet bib, (sounds a bit like an ET encounter!)

When we were at Kingscross station I thought of you and told Oly about you leaving Joey at the station as you waved bye from the train. It brought a tear to my eye!

I keep taking lots of pictures of the back of Oly... he is always in front of me on our walks. We will endeavour to take more pictures of us for you.
